Hi all
Not too much to say tonight as I am pretty shattered after a real full on day at work! It is the end of the Company's Financial Year tomorrow and we have HEAPS of temps finishing their contracts tommorow so we being kept REAL busy processing their final pays so that the $$$ can through to the Work Plans this financial year! So between those and the latest collective contract being ratified so all union members are getting a payrise backdated to 1 June and also some allowances being cancelled and others being amened... its all pretty full on which is why we are working at the weekend. I do feel a WEE bit guilty at not working both days but do need to think of myself and bubs and our health! So will work on Sunday - so am aiming to go in about 10ish and work till about 3pm all going well that is. I guess 5hrs overtime is better than none... then there might be a few more hours the following fortnight (15/16 July) but the $$$ will come in handy big time at the moment!
Just had my friend Lynaire and one of her daughters visit me for over an hour - was awesome to catch up with them and have some "girl" time without the men hanging around! We are planning to do it more often whilst Steph is shooting :)
Had another panic attack last night but it was a mild one and I was able to get it under control pretty quickly. I have since learnt that if I pile up the pillows (that I usually have behind my back etc) and sit up that it makes me feel a lot better and I usually then dose off sitting up for 2/3 hrs. So on the way home this evening, I went to the chemist and got myself some Rescue Remedy Spray and will keep that on hand especially during the night so hopefully that should assist me as I have heard so many good things about it. Was surprised at how dear it was but if it helps me then thats all good.
Have now got our support crew all organised for when I go into Labour... so am pleased thats another thing out of the way. Will talk to Mum about her being there if she wishes when we see her next weekend. Also got the nappy situation all sorted too so am pleased that we are slowly sorting through things. Still got heaps to do on her room but we will get there I guess...
Anyway, its gone 9.30pm now so am off to bed... need my beauty sleep :) But TGIF tomorrow!!!!

21 weeks...
Yeap am 21 weeks today so only 19 weeks to go... so only another 19 weeks of having to watch me countdown this pregnancy and then it will be all about the baby! LOL One day it will be back to being a weight loss journey but all in due course :)
Thanks Carla for your suggestion about "Rescue Remedy" - I hadn't thought about that so will try and get some in the next day or so and try that. After such a shocking night on Monday night, last night was much better back wise and also had no panic attacks so that was good so all in all I had a great sleep and felt quite good this morning.
Work was not to bad today - pretty hickilty pickilty (excuse spelling) and I felt like I didn't acheive much at all but I know I did overall.
Am catching up with my friend Lynaire and one of her daughters tomorrow evening as they are popping up to catch up with me whilst Steph is at shooting so it will be great to see them and have a good girl chat :)
Right time I was outta here - things to do, people to call.... catch ya all later

Well I must have jinxed things last night by saying how good I was sleeping etc... Had a real rough one last night with another "panic" attack starting just after 12.20am and wasn't able to calm down and get back to sleep till after 1.45am! But in regards to my back - it was the best night I had as I had got myself comfortable with 2 extra pillows and that seemed to work fine. So I will be using those again until I get my referral to the physio.
Work today was full on but not too bad at the same time. Am definitely working one day over the weekend - I think the other two may be working both Saturday and Sunday but I have put my foot down and said no to that and that I will only work one of the days. Went for a walk with L at lunch time as she needed to go to Farmers so of course whilst there I had to check out the baby section and got a couple of gourgeous outfits 1/2 price! :) Gotta love a good deal...
Right will sign off here as I am trying to watch "House" - I do love that programme!

Not to much to say tonight but thought I would still come online and say "hi" :)
Work was pretty full on today but we did get almost everything done but like I mentioned in an earlier blog things are going to be pretty full on for the next few weeks. But with teamwork I know we will get everything done. Will probably be working either this Saturday or Sunday but won't know for definite until later in the week.
Have had a quiet evening tonight doing sweet bugger all but seem to have a new "craving" - vanilla ice cream with tinned peaches! YUM!!! But don't worry I do share it with Stephan! LOL
Haven't felt many actual kicks lately - just the fluttering/butterflies but like I read somewhere - being a bigger woman who is overweight is like having an anterior placenta (when the placenta is at the front) - therefore the kicks/movements are harder to feel as there are more layers to get through so am not worrying too much just yet.
Not much else to say at this point that I can think of - oh still hanging out for the physio from the hospital to ring me (after MW's referral) as my back is playing up again but overall I seem to be sleeping better using the homeopathic spray.
Right gonna make tracks and head to bed.... catch ya all later

Gees another weekend over already! Boy they sure do seem to be going far to fast for my liking!!! Right what have we done.... not a lot but a fair bit at the same time if that makes sense :)
Yesterday, I decided to face the music and went down to Barbara's and got on those dreaded scales! Definitely more of a gain than I thought it would be - 3.1 kilos in the last five weeks! OUCH!!! So a total gain of 8.1 kilos now in 20 weeks - gotta keep a rein on my eating otherwise I will end up gaining a least 20 odd kilos and I certainly don't want to do that especially with all my hard work over the last 3 years and also for my health sake as well! Am going to make a real effort to go to weigh in every 3 weeks and keep a tab on this weight :) I would say approx 80% of my eating is not bad... okay maybe a bit less than than and the rest of it would be comfort eating (sausage rolls, chippies, ice cream). I am aiming to keep my total gain during the pregnancy to no more than 15 kilos so if thats the case - I am going to have to be careful.
Anyway, back to my weekend, after weigh in we headed out to the DVS shop in Nguranga Gorge - it was chocker with people - didn't buy anything but got brochures on some of the heating ideas we are looking at. Left there and headed to North City Plaza and did a bit of baby shopping at both K-Mart and Farmers (just getting some pink singlets and body suits) and had lunch at the food court. Home again for a quiet evening - joined up the video shop down the road and got a DVD out to watch. We got out "Long Weekend" - no big names star in it but it was well worth getting out and was a good laugh.
Today, we had to be up, dressed etc by 10am as my nephew (the sparky) was coming over to see the house for the first time but also to see what work we want done on it. 10am comes as does a txt from Rob saying he had been held up and would now be here about midday! So that gave us the chance to get the housework done and had just finished that when he rung to say he was almost here and needed some last min directions! So Rob came, took him on the tour of the house and he is happy to do everything we need done so sometime in the next few weeks we need to purchase the bits and pieces and then organise with him to come back down from Palmy to do the work. We popped down to the local bakery for lunch and then Rob left about 2pm.
After that, we popped down to Lower Hutt to check out carseats etc from Farmers, Baby City and Baby Factory. We know there is no rush for the 2nd carseat that our wee girl will need but we do need to get it whilst we are both working as we won't be able to afford to get it whilst on one income for those first 5mths or so. We are hiring the capsule from Plunket, and will make a decision sometime in the next couple of weeks or so on the other carseat.
Home again, and just blobbed out before Jo, Chris and Rhian popped in to drop off the Prenzels that I had ordered from their party the other night. Rhian was as gorgeous as usual and loved playing with my swiss ball :)
Just cooking dinner before winding down for a quiet Sunday evening - and will have my ususal Sunday night bubble bath before having an early night. Oh that homeopathic spray has really helped my sleeping over the last couple of nights! But my sore back is still giving me grief at times so hopefully it won't be long before I get my referral to the maternity Physio at the hospital.
Right time I was outta here - hope you have all had a good weekend and kept warm. Catch ya all later

Well another week over and done with and two days to hopefully have some sort of sleep in... I have managed to track down the homeopathic spray that aids in sleeping. It took visits to SIX different chemists to try to get it and at the last one I got a real helpful guy who told me to go to the Radius Pharmacy near work and ask for a particular lady and ask her to order it in for me for same day delivery. It turns out that he was her boss and told me to tell her if she questioned it just to call him! LOL But anyway, finally made it to the correct pharmacy (after going to the wrong one) and found the lady that I was looking for and whola within 3 hrs I had a bottle of the spray! Amazing what can be done when you try hard enough :) So am looking foward to trying it tonight and hopefully getting a reasonable nights sleep though on saying that last night wasn't too bad.
Work has been pretty full on the last two days and its only going to get worse over the next 6 weeks or so and will probably be doing a bit of overtime which I am not looking forward to hours wise but $$$ wise it will be nice :)
We had the most amazing crumbed fillets for tea tonight from our local fish 'n' chip shop (about 100 meters away). We often have their crumbed fish but thought we would try their fillets tonight and boy they are totally amazing!!! Would highly recommend them to anyone who wants a lovely meal! Their chips are quite amazing too :)
Not a lot planned for this weekend - well apart from housework, groceries and anything else that may come up. My eldest nephew who is a sparky is popping in on Sunday morning (on his way home) to see what we want done around the place and then we will just organise getting the bits required and then get him to come back down (he is currently living in Palmerston North) and do the work for us :)
A big welcome to the blogger world to Lou who has just started her own blog. Please pop by and say hi to her and support her on her journey.
Oh before I go - gotta share that I felt a couple of "kicks" last night whilst dozing off. It was a real amazing feeling and I can't wait for it to become a more regular thing for me and for Steph to be able to feel it too!
Right time to get moving... catch ya all later. Hope you all have a great weekend and keep warm.

Hi all
Firstly a big thank you to you all for the advice and support after yesterday's post... still not feeling the best but I will get there.
I did go to work this morning but only lasted 40mins before heading home again on orders from one of the managers! Don't think my boss was too impressed but hey he will get over it. I had been awake off and on all night and then at 4am I was awake and the only way I can describe how I was feeling is that it felt like I was hyper-ventilating! Probably was no where near as drastic as that but thats what it felt like... I also felt very clostaphobic (excuse spelling) and just wanted to run outside and get fresh air! I didn't know if I was hot or cold, didn't know if I wanted to lay down or sit up.... so basically I felt like shit and apparently looked like it too when at work! So came home and slept for almost 3hrs before getting up and having some lunch and since then I have just been sitting in the lounge with my feet up surfing the net... I am still quite tired but I can ALMOST guarantee that if I sleep now that I won't sleep tonight so am trying to avoid going back to bed. I am just hoping that I won't be over-tired by the time I get to bed tonight (which WILL NOT be late) which I think has been a problem for me lately.
We do have the MW coming around this evening (about 7.30ish) so will have a good chat to her then and see what suggestions she can come up with. My back is still sore but will try the suggestion Margaret made last night and see if that helps. Stephan is staying home from shooting this evening so he can hear the heartbeat etc... so that will be great. We have also decided who we want as our support team during the birth etc - I have asked one of them already and she is over the moon to be asked. Just got the other one to ask and I want to do it in person rather than through email, txt or phone. Both of these ladies are two very good friends of mine as I have decided that as much as I would love my mum or sister there I just don't think I could manage their advice giving etc during that time as my sister can be quite opinionated at times and she doesn't like it when I tell her things have changed since she last gave birth (almost 21 years ago)!!! And mum - well I don't think she would be able to cope with my language that I will no doubt be using HOWEVER on saying that I am starting to learn to think postively about the whole birth procedure and after reading Kate's journal over the last few months I have accepted it pays to be as calm as possible etc during the whole process as that helps everything progress more smoothly (most of the time).
Anyway speaking of births - Kate has posted her birth story today. Thank you so so so much for sharing that with us! I was bawling whilst reading it and it has made me open my eyes even more about what I am to go through in approx 2o weeks.
Oooooooops one more thing - how can I forget... I am offically 1/2 way today!!! Yeap am 20 weeks today!!! Wooohooo!!! Roll on the next 20 though on saying that we still have heaps to do before November but am sure we will get there. Congrats to Carla on being 20 weeks today as well!!!
Right enough rambling for today - I am so excited with the number of pregnant bloggers out there at the moment. It is so cool to be able to read about everyones progress - those ahead of you - you can get tips... and those behind you - you can pass on anything you may have learnt!

Not much to say... am feeling pretty horomonal today so won't ramble on too much. Have had a funny day all up.
Had my hospital appt this morning and has much as I was hoping this was going to be my last appt with them but they want me to go back in 4wks time (after I have had my next scan to check the top of the spine) to be on the safe side. I mentioned my continous tiredness and the Dr there wants me to try some Iron tablets which generally is ok but as they haven't tested my Iron Levels at all I am a bit cautious about taking them just yet... so will check with the Midwife when I see her tomorrow. My other "problem" at the moment is my back - am having a lot of problem with my back so will mention that to my MW as well. I am also going to try a Homopatheic Spray to assist me in sleeping... god I sound like I am moaning about this pregnancy when deep down I am so happy about it all. I guess I am finding all the bad things at the moment rather than the good things!
To be honest I am shit scared about this whole pregnancy thing especially as it progresses but thats another story altogether...

Hi ya
Just a quickie tonight as it is almost 9.30pm and I am off to bed shortly. Been having a bit of computer problems with the laptop this evening - still haven't resolved all the problems but at least I can use it at the moment.
Thanks for all the lovely comments about us expecting our wee girl. We are over the moon and between you all and I - I think she will become a daddy's girl! LOL But then I think all girls are daddy's girl in one way or another...
I would like to say a huge congrats to Carla who is not only due on the same day as me but found out today that she too is expecting a wee girl!!! Wooohooo! Congrats hun and I do wish we lived closer though! :)
I would also like to say a big congratulations to Emily and Jonny who are expecting their first child as well! Wow talk about pregnancy in blogger land!!! :) This is so exciting to have so many "friends" who have either just had babies or who are pregnant as well.
You can get to both of these journals by using the links to the side of my entry... one day I will suss out how to do links within the journal. I also need to work out how to reply to comments through email... but one day I will suss that out too!
Oh tomorrow morning I get a wee sleep in- okay maybe not a sleep in with Stephan still getting up at the normal time but I at least get a lay-in as I have what will hopefully be my last hospital appt at 9.30am and then all going well I will "discharged" from their care. I have booked a car park at work (for staff with medical appts).
Right time I got moving though Steph has just reminded me that our electric blankets aren't on yet so he has just gone to switch it on now... so I will wait another 10/15mins before heading to bed.
Catch ya all later :)

Its a......................
Okay, okay Steph and I have decided to put you all out of your misery and share the news with you so hey I did a pretty good job at keeping it hush, hush! It took 5hrs before I told any friend through txt messages yesterday but thats cause a lot of them were texting me with guesses and telling me I was teasing them etc! LOL
We are having a "mini me"!!! Yeap a wee girl is on her way! Yeah another girl for the girlie get togethers! Though the idea of providing Rhian or Jorja with a wee toyboy made me smile too! LOL Instead the three girls can be friends :) Bloody scary thought of another me running around this place - okay a mixture of the both of us obviously but if she is anything like I was as a kid god I am in trouble already!!!
But at least we know what colours to look at in the shops (not that we have been to any since the scan) or on Trade Me :) And I know at least a couple of people who are please to know what colour wool they can start using! LOL
We are also going through the name books which is lots of fun! God I can't believe some of the suggestions that are in those books though!!! Really scary!! LOL I'm gonna join the local library this week as well and start getting out books on childbirth and breastfeeding etc as money is getting tight and I can't really afford to keep buying books on TradeMe :) And then when I do find one that I really do like I can perhaps buy that one. And the library will be handy when I am parental leave as we sure won't be able to afford me buying things like books and it would be about 2kms away so it would be a nice walk on nice days.
Anyway, Jo has just txt me to say she is home as I left my jacket at her place on Thursday night after the Prenzel's party so we are about to brave the weather and head outside for the first time today! Yeap we have spent the whole day in the lounge with the heater on! Haven't even done any baking as we forgot to buy some more flour when doing the groceries so MIGHT stop and get some whilst out and then I MIGHT do some this evening but will see how I am feeling - have just had a 90 min snooze on the couch! LOL
Have a great week everyone and keep warm and stay safe.

Just another quickie to let you all know that the scan went well - we had a great 45mins of bubs and we have decided that for NOW we will keep it quiet as to what "flavour" it is. We do know and we got a great view of its appropiate bits! But I am open to any guesses if you want - and hey you have a 50/50 chance of getting it right! LOL Personally I think it will only be a matter of hours/days before I spill the beans! We are telling any family members who want to know though.
We did have a panic and tears on the way there though as I realised when we were almost at Lower Hutt that I had left the video behind (the one that have the 12wk and 15 wk scans on it) so despite being very pushed for time we made a very quick stop at Pak'n'Save and I rushed in and grabbed a new tape! Phew disaster averted! LOL And we can now get the 2nd video player out and dub this scan onto the other tape!
The sonographer has suggested that I go back in 3 weeks time so hopefully they will get a better shot of the top of the spine as bubs just would not cooperate in that part of the scan! The sonographer is pretty confident all is ok (on the spina bifida side of things) but I need to discuss it with the MW when I see her on Wednesday evening and see what she says. I will also need to go for another one at 32 weeks as I have a low laying placenta but that seems to be a fairly common thing from what I have heard/read... its nothing to worry about and it just gives me another chance to see bubs!
Right time to get moving, groceries, and then home to make the lamb pie for tonight. I will post the Ice Cream cake receipe at some stage soon - it is SOOOO simple to make but will report back tomorrow as to how it tastes! LOL
Catch ya all later and thanks for the support :)

Just thought I would do a quick post since I didn't do one last night. I went out to Jo's Prenzel party and despite not being able to sample the delicious liquours I did sample the oils (bread dipped in different oils) and also a wee bit of the ice cream toppings! :) But the best bit was meeting Rachel (another blogger whose link is in my list to the left) - we got on so well and I am going to pop around to her place at some stage soon to check out a highchair she has got and is ready to sell but just gotta check with Steph's brother to see if we are able to use their one or not.
Work was pretty full on today as L was away with a sick son at home so it was just the boss and I so it was busy, busy, busy and no rest for the wicked. Though on saying that he does appreciate the work I do and usually lets me finish early when its just the two of us which I certainly don't complain about.
Tonight, Steph and I have made the Boysenberry and Ice Cream cake and it is now done and back in the freezer all ready for tomorrow nights Mid Winter Party. We will make the lamb pie tomorrow afternoon :) Now having a quiet night watching Ghost Whisperer which has become one of my favourite programmes.
Well only 1 more sleep till the scan, getting a bit more relaxed about it. Still have the gut feeling its a boy but still deep down want a girl so hopefully bubs will cooperate and reveal all! LOL Will update when I can in the afternoon on how things went and if you are lucky I will share the gender with you as I just know I wouldn't be able to keep it a secret! LOL
Right, gonna get moving so will catch ya all later. Hope you all have a great weekend and stay warm.

Well not too much to chat about tonight... am still on a high after Kate's beautiful daughter Natalia was born yesterday afternoon. She is so adorable and so, so cute! The link to Kate's site is to the left of my site so feel free to check it out and see how gorgeous Natalia is.
I had a bummer of a headache earlier on today and this evening but after a panadol and a nice meal of homecooked butter chicken I feel better. I do think my headaches are related to when I don't eat for a while so despite not being hungry etc I do need to keep up my food intake (and as healthy as I can too) and will should be ok.
But speaking of healthy food - I am struggling with my fruit etc now - am prefering savoury, salty foods at the moment but don't mind maderins too much but thats about as far as my fruit intake goes at the moment. But am trying to keep up my water intake but sometimes I struggle with that too but the weight doesn't seem to bad - will TRY to get to weigh in this Saturday as it will be 4 weeks since my last weigh in but with the scan etc I amnot sure if I will get there but I will TRY and will be estimating a gain of approx a kilo which over 4 weeks is not too bad....
Anyway, off to make my sandwiches (egg ones today) and do the dishes - catch ya all later.
PS I am 19 weeks today so next Wednesday I will be 1/2 way!!! How scary yet how exciting!!! Oh and only 3 more sleeps till my scan......

Hi ya
Firstly a HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to Kate on the birth of a wonderful daughter this afternoon! No details of weight and name available as I write this but I just wanted to say Congrats and well done to Kate, Joseph and Amelia on the arrival of a daughter/sister :) *super duper big hugs to you*
A pretty chaotic day at work today but everything got completed and the pay roll was run by just after midday :) Tomorrow afternoon and Thursday morning the boss is interviewing for Jude's position which took 4 flaming mths to get approval to advertise! So fingers crossed that we get a great person who will fit into our team :) Work is going to be pretty busy over the next 6 weeks or so, so will be doing a bit of OT which at least we get paid for so that will be great for our bank account :)
Seem to have a bit of a funny tummy this evening - not sure if I want to be sick or if its the "other end" but just taking things easy at the moment. Will see how I am during the night and when I wake up in the morning...
We have Steph's family "mid winter" christmas dinner on Saturday night and this year it is a "NZ theme" so we are making a Curried Lamb Pie with Kumera Mash as our main contribution and then also making Boysenberry Ice Cream cake so we have a busy Friday Evening coming up as we make the Ice Cream cake (as it needs to set over night) and then after the scan on Saturday morning it will be home to make the pie so will be pretty full on.
Only 4 more sleeps till the scan and I have started the "worry week" and keep thinking that something will be wrong but gotta keep thinking positively and am sure all will be ok. But that doesn't stop me fretting and worrying... Still not sure if I will share the sex with you all just yet but will think about that over the next few days.
Right time to get moving, catch ya all later

Boy what a night/day we have had weather wise today!!! L and I got drenched this morning walking up from the station to work! It took almost all day for our trousers to dry and we both still had cold/damp socks by the time it was time to leave for the day! So it was so nice to get home this evening and put some nice dry socks and slippers on :)
Had a "comfort" dinner tonight of sausages, mashed spud, pumpkin and cabbage! It was delicious and I could have eaten it 10 times over!!! Okay well maybe not 10 times over but certainly I could have had more as I was starving for some reason! Okay can I say baby was hungry? LOL
Have had a moan and bitch with Stephan as whilst I was watching SS he was busy making his lunch and his only!!! Whereas I reguarly make his lunch for him whilst making mine and I just lost it this evening! GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR to men and their lack of thinking at times!!!!! But after I had calmed down after a wee while we talked and apologised to each other but it was so damn frustrating at the time! And after all that I couldn't be bothered making any sandwiches besides I just didn't know what I felt like having on them so have decided to have some noodles and fruit instead.
Had a lovely bubble bath last night and did a lot of time thinking about the birth whilst in there and have come up with some ideas which I will talk through with Stephan and the Midwife next week. Have also sussed out which Antenatal class we will go to - had to do some sorting of days/dates etc due to Steph's shooting committments but all sorted now so just waiting to hear back from the co-ordinator to confirm the dates.
Right time to get moving... catch ya all later and thanks for listening :)

Well another fairy quiet day today - small sleep in before heading to town and checking out the homeshow. Was able to say "no" to a lot of the pressure of having in-home demos of products! *phew* We did enter a couple of competitions though - $5000 linen from linen cupboard (drawn tomorrow) and $2000 wine cellar which Steph really wants to win. Oh we also entered one for a $5000 room makeover so we would do the bathroom if we won that or would we do the kitchen??? LOL We did get some great info on heat pumps which we are looking at putting in the house at some stage in the next 12/18mths all going well. Also got some info on the security systems which we are investigating as well...
Decided to have lunch out today since we don't do that very often with just the two of us.... so headed back to Petone and thought we would go to "The Screaming Turtle" as I have been there a couple of times with the "gals" and its been great. So after raving about it to Steph, we went there and must say I was throughly disappointed as was Steph and neither of us will be rushing back there again in a hurry! My meal came out pretty quickly (and luke warm) and I had finished mine and it was another 10 mins or so before Steph's came out! I complained and they offered us free drinks but as we had already had ours I asked for our money back instead and all they would give us was $5. So yes not a great experience but I guess thats what happens when management changes.
Home for a quiet afternoon, made a batch of Raspberry muffins... was going to make a banana loaf as well for Steph but we didn't have enough flour so that will have to wait for a few days until I get to the supermarket again. Lovely dinner of crumber schnitzel with mashed spuds, pumpkin, peas and cauliflower :)
Might head off and have a bubble bath shortly all going well - going to be a wet and wild night here weatherwise so definitely the sort of night to curl up in bed with a book :)
Hope you all have a great week.

Am feeling better today which is great... no Panadol required as yet today but I can feel a headache lurking so I will probably take one before heading to bed to be on the safe side.
Had a reasonable nights sleep and got up about 8.30am :) Managed to get 3 loads of washing out on the line before heading to the hairdressers just after 11am. I know I was supposed to be resting but I had also cleaned Charlies cage out and also ran the vacum cleaner through the place before going to the hairdressers but I was feeling ok so just did what I felt like doing whilst the sun was shining :) Went back to my style I had a couple of mths ago - I quite liked it but found it hard to managed with the natural curls I have but Steph's "baby" sister gave me her hair iron (straightner) last weekend as it wasn't strong enough for her curls so I have decided to go back to this style and give this hair ironing a go - might have to get up earlier during the week but will see how I go :)
Home from there, groceries, lunch, then off to Jude's place with Sue. That was pretty hard and we had a wee cry together there. Sue has a 8mth old son who is so adorable and we had lots of cuddles and laughs and made me very clucky indeed :) I wasn't able to find the work I was looking for but apparently Jude's son may have it at his place so will touch base with him during the week and arrange to meet up for coffee and see if it is what I am looking for. After that, I popped into the skating rink to watch Jo and Helena on their skates :) And Rhian was there today as well and she looked so cute on her skates with Jo and Chris holding a hand each :) I missed meeting Rachel as she wasn't there but perhaps next time I will meet her... Didn't stay there for too long as I was getting quite cold by this stage so headed home to spend some time with my darling.
Now I am here home alone as Steph has headed over to Martinborough for a shooting competition, so we had an early tea (Bacon and Egg pie - not homemade unfortunately) and he hit the road. He should be home between 10-11pm but am just thinking I might ring his sister and see if they are watching the rugby (NZ vs Irish) and if so I may pop down there to keep myself from feeling too down which I have been feeling for the last wee while.
Right I am just blabbering now - will go ring his sister and catch ya all later

Just thought I would do a quick update to let you know all is ok healthwise. I did end up going to the Drs this evening due to the continious nagging I got from fellow work mates and they weren't going to give up until I rung and made the appt. So have been to the Dr (not my normal one though as she was fully booked) and basically paid $55 to get told I have a cold, get plenty of rest and to take panadol over the weekend. But like he said it is better to be safe than sorry especially when pregnant (and paranoid LOL) and I did have a slighter higher temp but the cough is just a cough and my chest, ears and throat are all clear :) But he did say if the panadol doesn't seem to be working over next 24/36hrs or if I get any worse that I am to go to the After Hours centre.
So am sitting here now with my feet up whilst Steph is cooking tea - we normally do have takeaways on a Friday but since I was feeling so crook last night we had them then. And as I did all the housework last Friday (when I had the day off) I am sweet talking Steph into doing it this weekend :)
Not a lot planned really - haircut tomorrow morning, going to Jude's house in the afternoon with a friend of hers who is the excutor of her will as I need to look for something work related that Jude took home with her when she initally started her sick leave. I have emailed her son a couple of times asking him to look for it but no such luck. So am meeting Sue who still has a key to the house and will go through things looking for this folder as it is now quite urgently required at work. This is gonna be a hard hour or so for me but with Sue there I know I will have support.
There is a home show in Wgtn which started today and is on over the weekend... we are thinking we might go in on Sunday afternoon as the weather is supposed to be crappy then. But will play it by ear and see how I am feeling.
Right thats it from me - this is probably the most I have written all week! LOL Oh and only 8 more days till the next scan! :) My gut feeling is that we are having a boy so will be interesting to see if Bubs is co-operative next week.
Hope you all have a good weekend. Take care :)

Not much to say tonight as I am not feeling the best... have had heart pulpations for majority of the day. Have been having them off and on for the last few days but today they have been there most of the day. Have just spoken to Midwife and she says she can't think of anything pregnancy related that could be causing this so has suggested that I have an early night, have a warm milky drink (yuck) and take a couple of panadol and if I am no better in the morning or they come back tomorrow to call the Dr and make an appt to see her.
My heartrate has been about 95 most of the day whereas the average adult heartrate is approx 72 per min. Its a bit freaky but am trying not to worry too much... even just laying on the couch for 2 1/2 hrs this evening (with takeaways for tea) so I was not moving much at all and the heart rate didn't drop below 92!
MW thinks it could be the beginning of some sort of infection so will see how I am in the morning.
But anyway, off to put my electric blanket on so I can head to bed after Super Nanny... catch ya all later.

Another brief update tonight as once again I don't have too much to say... Wow 2 nights in a row!!! That could be some sort of record! LOL
Am sitting here eating cheese and crackers and listening to a Spandeau Ballet CD that I got today with a music voucher that I had from Christmas (and that Jude had given me) ... Spandeau Ballet also happened to be one of Jude's all time favourite bands and "True" was her utmost favourite song which was played at her funeral so I have just finished bawling whilst that was playing but now I am recalling the good times :)
Work was pretty quiet as predicited so the day did drag on and on a bit... and no doubt tomorrow will be the same :(
Oh Kate I won't be starting a "dummy debate" anytime soon as that is one area I am very unsure on and will play it by ear once baby is here. Can't believe that I am 18 weeks already - almost 1/2 way though starting to get paranoid that something is not right but no fears its probably just me being the worry wart that I am at the moment. Only 10 days till the scan....
Right, thats enough from me - catch ya all later :)

Not going to say to much tonight... mainly cause I don't have a lot to say... Thanks for all your opinions on cloth nappies, I certainly didn't mean to start any debate etc so might keep the nappy topic quiet for the timebeing but have taken all comments on board and I will discuss them with Steph... and I know in due course we will make our decision once we have explored all optionsl.
Work today was busy but have no idea what I will do tomorrow as I am all up to date with EVERYTHING... very tempting to call in and have a sick day but no point in wasting a sick day when they might be very well required later in the pregnancy so will probably see if I can help the boss with his backlog of filing... gees I hate filing but done in small lots it is bearable :)
Feeling a bit blah this evening (just these damn hormones I think) so I might head to bed early I think... oh speaking of which I must go and put my electric blanket on so my bed is nice and cosy.
Catch ya all later

BRRRRRRRRRRR it sure is damn chilly here today! In fact Steph is just turning the heaters on - I am surprised we have hung out for so long before turning them on today. We have the gas one on in the lounge (on low) and then he is putting one of the oil ones on down the other end of the house though I have just told him its probably not worth putting the oil one on for now but later in the day we will put it on so it warms up the bedroom etc...
We have found the style of heater that we want for the hallway - we just need my darling nephew (who is a sparky) to come down from Palmerston North for the day and fit a power point into the hall way and then whilst he is here there are a couple of other jobs we will get him to do... and then will pay him by cooking him a roast meal and a dozen beer :) So we will need that done and installed by next winter but prefably within in the next month or so!
So what have we been up to.... hmmmm not a lot really. Yesterday we looked at more paint colours, found the light/heat fitting we need for the bathrom as our one currently has 3 spots in it and is a ridiculous fitting for a bathroom so just waiting for them to get a price for us (as it is not a stocked item) and then will add that to the list of things Rob (my nephew) can do for us! :) We also went to the Warehouse and got a couple of cheap pillows (for between my knees etc at night time), a mattress protector for the spare bed in the babys room and also a toy hammock and chain for MY collection of soft toys! I used to collect soft toys a number of years ago and have quite a collection which has been in boxes and bags for the last few years so can't wait to get them out and display them as such.
We had a quiet night last night though I was feeling pretty shitty - headachy, cold, hot, and quite fluey... so Steph cooked dinner and we had a lovely rolled beef roast dinner with all the veggies (well all the ones that Steph eats) and then topped if off an hour later with an apple crumble with cream! I must admit I did feel better after having a decent meal so perhaps my headache etc was not helped that I had not eaten a lot during the day. We watched a documentary on C4 (Wgtn Channel) on Meatloaf - the musician that is not the meal! LOL Was really fascinating as we both enjoy his music. Once that finished at 9pm I headed to bed...
Had a restless night - seem to spend most nights awake between about 3-4.30am - so frustrating but all part of being pregnant I guess. Slept through till 9am and got up about 9.30am so have really enjoyed 4 sleep-ins this long weekend. Done sweet "F" all so far today - just mucked around home - we are now watching the MeatLoaf DVD that we borrowed off one of Stephs sisters quite a while ago but had never watched. I have done some more baking - and guess what I have made??? Yeap another banana loaf and a batch of banana and chocolate chip muffins! Steph thinks he is in heaven at the moment with my domestic baking every weekend and he is loving taking baking to work with him each day :)
We might head over to Wainuiomata to see a friend this afternoon but just waiting to hear back from her to see if she is going to be home or not... but apart from that not a lot planned.
Thanks for the comments re childcare and cloth naps from my previous post - we haven't definitely decided to use cloth yet but we are heading that way... I know it is more work when it comes to washing etc but we have got a plan that could work when it comes to that... we do have a supply of NB disposables which we will use for the first mth or so anyway. The only issue with cloth is the outlay at the beginning - the pack we like is $699 but then thats it - no more costs except perhaps some liners later on as it comes with 1000 liners as part of the pack along with a bag to put them in whilst out and also a bucket with lid etc... That includes all nappies from NB until they are potty trained!!! So comparing that to the cost of approx $3000 for disposables for the same period - thats quite a big saving but we just have to find the money to get the pack if we go for cloths.
Anyway, thats enough rambling from me - time to think about lunch as its gone 12.30pm now. Hope you are all enjoying the long weekend... catch ya later

Ooops meant to do a post last night but never got around to it so bare with me as this one could ramble on a bit :) Oh yeah thats right - thats nothing new for me! LOL
Back to my day off yesterday.... was nice to be able to sleep in and have a lazyish day. Stayed in bed till about 8.30am then after showering, breakfast, surfing the net,and doing a load of washing I went and checked out the first day care centre down the road from us - was really great but the infants and nursery were out on a walk (not through a motorway tunnel either - god how stupid are some people!!!) so never really got to see them in action or to meet the staff that would be looking after our baby but got a good tour and they are posting out an info pack for us to read as they didn't have any printed off at that time. Only downside that I can see at the moment with them is that only take disposable nappies whereas Stephan and I will probably be using cloth naps for our baby (after the first month or so). Now a lot of people are asking why cloth - well mainly due to overall cost but also for the envirionment and yes you do need to change cloth more freqently as they don't have the gel to asborb the wee's etc but we are happy to do that. :)
Anyway back to my day, after checking out that day care centre (I will probably back there one day so I can see/meet the staff) I popped down to Lower Hutt and did some browsing through Farmers before coming home and having lunch and doing the vacuming, I then went and had my 1/2 hr massage at the gym - boy that was bliss and so nice and relaxing... I think I will be getting one a month as I think we can afford $25 once a month as a treat for me.
After the massage, I popped into another local day care centre and really liked that one too - slightly cheaper and smaller but they do take cloth naps so we do have some thinking to do. We are also going to investigate "in-home" care as well but theres not alot you can do about that one until bubs is born. After that, I shot down to a local cafe runnning late to meet Helena for a catch-up and a hot chocolate (oh yeah and also a piece of lemon slice). Home, more housework and then wound down for a quiet night at home. We tried a new local curry place for tea - and OMG it was delicious and so nice! We will definitely be going back there again :)
Today, we have managed to meet up with Steph's brother and sister in law this morning and had a good chat to them. Their cot is currently being used by a family member down in Dunedin but they know heaps of other people who have cots not being used so there is a great chance we will be able to borrown one of them. At this stage, we are hoping to be able to borrow their change table (with built in bath), jolly jumper, and high chair. We were going to borrow the infant car seat as well but unfortunately it has passed its expiry date so will go with Plan B and hire one from Plunket :) We have also browsed the shops for car seats (the one after the infant capsule) but need to get the car checked re anchor bolts etc first. We put some money on the layby for the pram, we have also managed to get a really cool freize/border for the babys room reduced down to $5 each and also got heaps of colour charts so once we narrow down the colours we will go and get some test pots. Apparently Stephs parents have some computer programme which you can choose colours etc and see layouts of colours etc... so we will borrow that and have a look at that as well. Oh we also stopped at Bunnings and got a free standing wardrobe/cupboard for only $109 so now babys room will have a wardrobe :) Ok - it is a cupboard at this stage but Step is going to take out the top couple of shelves and put in a rail and all will be great.
Boy I am shattered now just reading all of that... so am now sitting here with my feet up resting whilst Steph reads the paper :) Oven baked fish and chips tonight since we haven't done the groceries yet.
Hope you are all having a good weekend - catch ya all later :)

Not too much to say tonight... but wanted to do a quick post to say thanks to you all for your lovely comments and emails about my photos. I am still struggling to see the glow that I apparently have and as for looking slimmer - I don't think so! LOL But on saying that I have had a few people say that to me recently so perhaps I am a bit slimmer and the weight is baby! LOL Still can't see a bump - just see fat! But thats just me and its hard to see something different than I am used to seeing for the last goodness knows how long.
Like I said last night (I think...) I have tomorow off work so that means a sleep in, doing some washing, checking out a couple of local day care centres and of course my massage at 2pm though I must admit I am a bit nervous as I have not been to this woman before for massages - only ever said hi to her at the gym but am sure all will be ok.
Oh at some stage over the looong weekend we will be getting some test pots of paint for the bubs room so thats gonna be fun :)
Right back is sore from the angle I am using the laptop - catch ya all over the weekend. Hope you all have a great long weekend :)
