Hi all

Oh well another week begins... work was busy but a nice busy. With L being away on a site visit, there was only the boss and I and we seemed to get through quite a bit and kept L's work up to date as well.

Back tracking to yesterday... didn't really do too much. Had a mini sleep in and then after breakfast, we headed down to Steph's brothers place to drop off a birthday card to Stephs nephew and some money that went towards a telescope that Connor had got and we had all chipped in for. After leaving there, we headed to Lower Hutt and put some money on our pram layby and wandered around looking at car seats at both Baby Factory and Baby City. Ran into a friend of mine at Baby City who is due in 3 weeks so we had a quite a good ole catch up whilst there :) Have more or less made our decision re carseats but will make the final decision sometime this week as the one we will probably get is on special till the end of the weekend.

Home for lunch which was left overs from Saturday night and then after a bit of tidying up, I got stuck into baking and made a batch of Raspberry muffins and also a banana loaf before Steph's sisters turned up for a cuppa and to drop off Steph's birthday present (he is now getting a lovely collection of Mitre 10 vouchers which is what he asked for).

Had an unexpected visit after tea from our friends Lynaire and Kev. It was great to see them and we had a good ole catch up :)

Back to tonight - we are having a yummy chicken and vegetable bake tonight for tea which is currently in the oven cooking. It does feel good planning our meals and knowing what we are going to be having. Most of our receipes this week are from the "Food in a minute" cookbook :)

Anyway, the timer is about to go off... so best I get moving but oh before I go - I must share with you that Steph finally got to feel our wee girl kicking over the weekend and that really made him feel part of the pregnancy. She is definitely one very active wee girl so hopefully that continues later on in her life! :)

Right going now.... catch ya later

Hi ya

Wow an update in here on a Friday and a Saturday night - thats gotta be a first! :) Though it goes to show what sort of social life we have at the moment.... sweet bugger all happening for us!

Had almost 3hrs at the hairdressers this morning, getting a new cut - well ok it looks new today but am sure within a couple of days it will be looking like it used to! Definitely didn't want to continue the longer straighter look - just didn't suit me at all. Also got my foils redone and will probably be the last time I get those done due to the cost.

Once I was home from there, it was time to have a quick lunch before heading out to do the groceries. And this week we have done something that we haven't done before, we sat down whilst having lunch and planned our meals this week (well not so much what to have on what day but organised what we are having for tea over the next week) so we bought what we needed so will see how that goes this week.

Popped into Steph's parents place for a quick cuppa as they were busy wallpapering the front bedroom. Home again to wind down and we had yummy beef rollups for tea tonight (from a "Food in a Minute" receipe book) with a basic green salad.

Just blobbing now watching "The F word" - we love this programme and Gordon Ramsay - he really is an amazing chef! Might watch a DVD once this finishes... but then might just have an early night - will see how I am feeling in the next hour or so.

Catch ya all later

Yay its Friday night and that means two days off work and two days of sleep-ins and doing things around home... perhaps not necessarily relaxing but its better than working! :)

I think I will change the topic of my last few posts about money as there are obviously some very strong opinions out there which are great to hear but I know that Stephan and I will make the decision that is best for us at the time. We have done lots of talking tonight and have decided on what our first inital step is for the next 12 weeks whilst I am still working... and we have a couple of plans that we are looking into for after the paid parental leave is up. And even making that first decision has made me feel a bit better and a bit less stressed out. And like I say Steph and I will come to the decision that suits us the best :) But thanks for all your support and advice - its all been taken on board :)

Work today was quite good but as the boss is currently giving up smoking he is being quite grumpy and moody at the moment (he has currently been 7 days without a smoke) so am not looking forward to Monday and Tuesday when L is out of the office on a site visit cause that will mean its just the boss and I! For his sake he better not get grumpy with me as I can give as good as I get especially when tired and pregnant! LOL He already knows that as we had a brief run in this afternoon - nothing major but he got the message that I was not happy with the way he spoke to me at the time!

Still not too much planned for the weekend, currently sitting here watching "24" with Steph before heading to bed once this is finished. Have already done the washing so its all ready to be hung out first thing in the morning. Got the hairdressers appt and this could be one of my last appts at my current hairdressers as they are one of the dearer ones in Upper Hutt and as there is a hairdresser approx 100 metres away from our house which is cheaper (I know the lady who manages it from when I was going to the gym) so I think I will be swapping to her very shortly. But apart from that, not much more planned really apart from housework and groceries. So perhaps we will get some time to work on the spare bedroom and the nursery which will be great.

Anyway, enough rambling from me for a Friday night... Hope you all have a great weekend and I will catch ya all later :)

Hi there

Before I start I just want to wish my darling loving husband a very happy birthday for today! I love you heaps darling and can't wait till our wee girl comes along and becomes part of our family! You are going to be an awesome daddy! Love you heaps hun xxx

Once again thanks for the advice after last nights post... I will be calling the "Working for Families" 0800 number when I have a moment (not something I want to do from work) and will have a chat to them :) But the more I think about it the more likely it is that we will put an application in to our bank to have a 3mth break just to help us out a bit... An Anonymous comment was left earlier on but it has since been deleted (by the poster not me) about Steph staying home on Parental Leave and me going back to work... that too is something we have talked about but not a decision I am going to force him into and will let him make the decision but personally I don't think it will happen and besides even on my salary we would still be struggling...

Though I must admit the article on the news today about people on over $100K getting Family Assistance is very frustrating indeed and made me more adamant that I will be calling them when I can.

Work today - not too bad - wouldn't call it cruisey but it was lighter than we have been having lately which was great. I met a friend for lunch today and it was awesome catching up with Jenny and boy did we talk!!! It was great seeing her and we are determined we will meet up again before I go on Parental Leave :)

We haven't done a lot for Steph's birthday tonight as one he had competition shooting tonight so that put pay to having a nice dinner/evening together... and two we might go out over the weekend to a local carvery which does a 3 course roast meal for only $15 per head.

Not a lot planned for the weekend at this stage apart from the usual housework, groceries etc... am hoping to catch up with a friend or two if we are able to have spare time at the same time if that makes sense...

Right catch ya all later...

Thanks for your support and comments from last nights post... I have spoken to the Bank and although they don't offer "mortgage holidays" as such they do consider them on a case by case situation after putting your application in. The lady I spoke to on the 0800 number said given our circumstances she couldn't see why our application wouldn't be approved for 3mths. So that is an option for us to consider - yes you end up acrruing interest during this time but hey so be it when it means surviving or not and also giving me some quality time with our new born baby!

I have also proposed to my boss about going back part-time - had in fact talked it to him about it a couple of mths back and he is putting a proposal to his manager about whether we can have a part-timer in the team... so will keep you posted on that one but probably won't know anything about that one until after bubs is born and I apply to go back to work.

I have also emailed a couple of places that do in home care for babies to get an idea of prices... I know getting someone in to our place is very pricey but it is a bit cheaper if you take them to the caregivers place so would want some one local of course :)

But also all going well I might find a friend who is happy to look after bubs for a bit of extra cash.. but will wait and see.

So overall, I am in a better frame of mind as long as I don't think too much about the financial side of things!

Was in a briefing session this morning and just sitting there when all of a sudden bubs decided it was time for a karate session! Boy she sure can kick when she wants too! Had to control myself so I didn't jump each time she kicked me but the first time she did that todayI almost hit the roof as it is the first time she has done that during the day as she usually saves those episodes for night time.

Anyway, enough from me - time to go make some egg sandwiches for lunch tomorrow so will catch ya all later :)

Well after moaning about how active our wee girl had been on Sunday night - last night had to be one of the best I have had for quite some time. She was quite quiet and apart from a few movements as I went off to sleep as if to say "don't forget me mum" (as if I could) and then she was quiet for the rest of the night in fact I got a bit worried when I woke after such a good sleep (only one toilet stop) but she soon put my mind at ease.

However, I have had a shity day not so much workwise as that was pretty good but more so after doing some investigating on the "Working for families" and IRD website I have discovered that we are over the threshold by approx 300 flaming dollars for almost every available "top-up" that is out there! I am so wild at the moment as I have no idea how we are going to manage - looks like I might be heading back to work sooner rather than later :(

So apart from all of that - I don't have a lot to say apart from we are looking at all options availalble to us at the moment.

Right no more blabbering from me - catch ya later

Monday, July 24, 2006

Hi ya

Well I had shit of a night last night sleepwise... initally woke about midnight with a headache so took a panadol and finally drifted back off to sleep and then I got up at 3.30am for a toilet stop and after getting back into bed "young madam" decided it was time to party!!! She jumped, she danced, she kicked until about 5am! No matter what position I tried to get in, she just wouldn't stop and I couldn't get comfortable! I was getting quite grumpy and frustrated by this time as I was already tired and all I wanted to do was sleep!!! So I think I finally dosed off just after 5am for about 1/2hr before waking just prior to the alarm going off... so I have been one tired gal today!

I was able to catch the earlier train today and got through all my work though it was a pretty full on day. Though the wee one was quite active again which does make things uncomfortable when sitting at a desk all day - so I do try to get up and walk around as often as possible.

So no baking done tonight either as I just don't have the energy. So perhaps tomorrow night all going well but won't hold my breath as I seem to be pretty tired by the time I get home most evenings. Definitely no 2nd trimester energy boost or glow as yet... but I keep getting told it can still happen.

Anyway, not much else to say so won't blabble on for the sake of it... will catch ya all later

Sunday, July 23, 2006

Wow another Sunday night already... where oh where has the last two days gone? But the main thing is that we have had two great days weatherwise which is fantastic for the weekend. I can cope with shitty weather during the week if it means a nice weekend... but then again if it was a shitty weekend I would probably find staying in bed longer easier as I just can't sleep in when the sun is shining!

Back to Friday.... another hectic day at work and then a quiet night for us :)

Saturday - I woke up with the intention of going for an official weigh in however as Barbara doesn't always open on a Saturday you need to call first to make sure she is open.... and as my luck would have it she wasn't open... bugger! So will see how things go next week and aim to pop down then. After breakfast, a bit of housework and a couple of loads of washing, we made an impromptu decision to head over the Rimutaka's to Masterton and visit my sister and her partner and his girls. So we headed over, stopped and got some bits for lunch and had a lovely afternoon over there. Left there just after 4pm, got back to Upper Hutt about an hour later and headed to straight to supermarket to do the groceries, home, unpacked, then had some tea before heading to Steph's sisters place to watch the rugby and then ended up staying to watch the netball as well so it was almost midnight before we got home! One long day but a good one spending time with family :)

Today, another load of washing and tidying up around home, I decided to head into work for a couple of hours to make things a bit easier for me tomorrow. Got home, popped up to Jo's place (hope you are feeling better soon chickeee) and picked up their change table and portacot which we are borrowing off them so thats another two items crossed off our list and added to the nursery! Starting to fill up heaps now in that room - no place for the cot now! LOL But we will find room I am sure... :)

No baking done this weekend - bugger - might try to do some tomorrow evening as I am about to do the dishes (lunches are already made) and then its time for my weekly bubble bath. Whilst sitting here typing this - our wee girl seems to be bouncing around quite a bit :) Though at least shes not kicking as yet - that always come just as I am dosing off to sleep! LOL

Right time to get moving, hope you have all had a good weekend and that you have a good week.

Hi all

Not too much to say tonight as I feel all I go on about is either work or the baby which must get a bit boring for everyone else out there....

But upon saying that - I will post the pics that I took the other day. Apologies for the quality of the scan photos as these were taken off the video whilst on pause.

The shot above is a side on shot of her face laying with her hands behind her head. The one below is a profile shot - and the small "whale" in the middle of the pic is her tum! See I told you she takes after her mummy already! Oh these were taken at the last scan which was 22wks 3 days.

And the next one is obviously of me and my bump taken at 23wks 5 days. Excuse the curtains in the background - one day these will be replaced when we have the spare dosh.

Our wee girl was certainly having a GREAT workout this afternoon and as much as it was great feeling her move and kick... things were getting a tad uncomfortable after an hour or so of her using my bladder as a trampoline!

Okay, I wasn't going to rave on about baby stuff tonight and look at me... though I am sure I would have sweet else all to say...

So on that note I will disappear and do the dishes... and do some surfing on the net. Catch ya all later.

24 weeks today...

Yeap 24 down and 16 to go!!! Okay am starting to freak out a bit now with everything that lays ahead of me but am sure everything will go smoothly... Getting some real strong kicks now most evenings and I am sure she is enjoying jumping on my bladder as exercise each night! But I know I am blessed with this wee girl and am savouring everything that she gives me whilst she is still inside of me!

Work today was pretty full on - I wasn't feeling the best but survived the day :) The boss is away for the next 2 days so it will be just L and I but am sure we will manage to get through everything but have been given "permission" to work OT over the weekend if the need is there but I am so hoping that we will get through everything before then as I really don't want to work at the weekend if I can help it.

Had a great day waterwise today so have no doubt that I will be in for a few toilet stops tonight but whilst drinking it I felt so great :)

Steph was home again today as he had a real rough night coughing etc (which of course kept me awake too) but it was nice to come home today to find him feeling a lot better and having had the energy to sort out stuff from the spare room and also the nursery... more things up in the roof space, more things put away in the wardrobe and more things in the bin! :) Both rooms look so much better now but still got quite a bit to do before the baby arrives... He also made a yummy spaghetti bolaganise for dinner :)

Anyway, going to get moving - might try to catch up with my sister and perhaps a friend or two on the phone tonight :) Catch ya all later

Tuesday, July 18, 2006

Hi all

Firstly thanks to you all for your support after last nights post... it means a lot that you all back me up after that comment from Anonymous the previous night. I did go to work today and am feeling a lot better and have been drinking heaps of hot lemon and honey drinks. Though it was Steph's turn to have the day off today with the same symptoms but pleased to say that he is feeling better too.

Have been trying all evening to upload photos to the forum that I belong to but have had no luck at all! So have given up for now before I throw this flaming silly laptop through the window! I have done it before on the laptop but for some reason it just won't work tonight!!! GRRRRRRRRRR to modern technology at times!!!! They are of my bump taken yesterday and also a couple of our wee girl taken from the last scan but given the circumstances over the weekend and out of respect to Emily and Jonny I will postpone posting them on here for a few days.

Have had both a visit to the clinic at the hospital this morning and also the back up MW visit this evening (as my normal MW is on holiday for the month). I have offically been discharged from the clinic as all is going well and I got a wee peek at our wee girl. The MW visit ( which was supposed to have been last night but she postponed it) went really well too with everything going to plan so to speak...

Anyway, am going to get going and finish watching "House" - its the season finale tonight - I am so going to miss this on Tuesday nights. Catch ya all later

Monday, July 17, 2006

Not too much to say today but wanted to express my sympathy to Emily and her husband Jonny on the loss of their precious baby over the weekend. You are both in my thoughts and prayers - stay strong and remember we are all here for you *hugs*

To Anonymous Kate - thanks for your "caring" comment last night but when you have a boss who sends you home if you go to work coughing etc... I decided that there was no point in making the 1 hr journey to work in the cold morning air when there would be a 95% chance of being sent home again which would take even longer as the train would stop at all stations... I know I don't have any disease but I am taking care of myself and my precious baby!

So have spent the day drinking hot lemon and honey drinks with glasses of OJ in between the hot drinks and am starting to feel a bit better.

Right things to do, calls to make... catch ya all later

Gees another weekend has flown by.... can't believe I haven't updated since Thursday night but the time has just disappeared on me!!!!

Friday was an ok day at work... L was on leave so was just the boss and I so it was pretty quiet really. The new lady (who is taking Judes role) is starting 14th August so that will be great to have another member on the team who knows what she is doing! Friday night - I did sweet bugger all really - cooked a real yummy tuna pasta bake for tea (since we had takeaways on Thursday night) and did some of the housework and was in bed by just after 9pm!

Saturday - let me think - had a wee sleep in, did the washing, then popped up to Judes place to meet her son and to collect the pair of bears that I had given her when she was sick so they now have pride of place in the middle of our bed. Then Steph and I hit the road, got 2 panel heaters from the DVS store, picked up the head support for the capsule/pram that I got on TM, popped in to see a friend in Tawa for a catchup and yakker, then up to Porirua - grabbed some lunch, then to Bunnings Warehouse and got the power point fittings we needed and priced up the light fittings we want in the lounge and also priced the 3 in 1 bathroom light fittings before heading home. Home briefly for a toilet stop and then out to do the groceries, picked up a fresh pizza from Supermarket for tea and then got real restless so unpacked 3 more boxes - mainly just photos and my ceramics for the shelves in the spare room... then unpacked the 2 bags of shoes that had been sitting in our room since the day we moved in. Am getting rid of about 8 pairs I think - can't be bothered selling them on TM so will just drop them off to the Salvation Army shop at some stage. Then we watched "Little Nicky" on TV, I headed to bed 1/2 way through movie and watched the last 1/2 in bed. So that was both Friday and Saturday night that I was in bed by just after 9pm!

Today, the sun was shining when I woke, so bounced out of bed about 8.30am, and after showering and having breakfast, I got into the baking for the girls get together this afternoon so made a batch of bran muffins (with no oil or butter in them) and a batch of crispy lemon muffins. Then after the dishes were done, we popped up to Upper Hutt to collect a parcel of baby clothes that I had won on TM but the postie was too lazy to bring down to our house so had to collect it from Books and More, then a quick stop at Steph's parents place and dropped off my 2 pairs of pants that need taking up and hopefully will have them back next weekend all going well. Home, lunch and some more tidying up of some wee bits before the girls started arriving. Had a awesome time with them catching up and boy there were some great laughs to be had! It was great seeing everyone and we really do need to have these catch ups more reguarly!

After the girls had left, I folded the washing, washed my car (after all there is only so much hinting one can give their partners) - I would have washed the station wagon as well had I not been pregnant but just doing mine buggered me! LOL Now I am here blobbing out and Steph has just made a meatloaf for dinner.... so after that I might organise my lunch for tomorrow and then have a bubble bath before having another early night. Hopefully I will be ok for work tomorrow as I have had a sore throat off and on over the weekend and it seems to be getting worse at the moment but will see how I am doing in the morning...

Hope you have all had a good weekend and that you all have a great week.

Thursday, July 13, 2006

Hi ya

Another great day at work - not to hectic but busy enough to make the day go fast enough. Once gettng home, I realised that I needed to take some books back to the library so suggested to Steph that once he had a shower, that we shoot up to Upper Hutt, drop the books off, pop into the Warehouse and then grab some takeaways for tea before he had to go out... So we did that and got some great bargins from the Warehouse - 2 flannel work shirts for Steph, 2 sweatshirts for me (nice baggy ones for during the winter), 1 nice work top for me, 2 soft cup bras and 2 books for baby - all for $65! So definitely got some bargins there!

We had been talking about baby stuff at work and one of the ladies suggested that I start reading stories to baby because of course she can hear me now so am going to start reading her stories whenever I can. I will also track down a couple of nice CD's so we can play them to her :)

Got another fairly busy weekend organised this weekend... Saturday is of course the usual housework, groceries and washing as well as going to the DVS Store in Ngaraunga Gorge to purchase a couple of the Econ-heat panel heaters - one for the hallway and one for the babys room (they are so much cheaper to run that the oil fin ones that we have been using down that end of the house), we will also stop at Bunnings and purchase some power points for when my nephew comes and does the work for us. Will also grab a 3 in 1 lighting unit for the bathroom whilst at Bunnings... then home for a quiet evening I think.

Sunday - there will be some baking done in the morning as I have Jo, Janine, Helena, Rachel and maybe another friend Rose popping in for a cuppa and some of my homemade baking in the afternoon. It will be great seeing them all and catching up :) Rachel is also bringing a highchair that we are buying off her so thats another item crossed off our list :)

Anyway, time to get moving so will catch ya all later

23 weeks down... 17 to go...

Yeap 23 weeks today and only 17 to go... or that is going by my EDD and as we all know anything could happen! I keep thinking of a friend of mine who had her first 8 weeks early which means that if happened to me that is only 9 weeks away! So really hoping that doesn't happen to me as that is just a bit too early for my liking!

I really MUST get a photo taken as my last one was at 17 weeks and I think there may be a difference in my bump now - though obviously I still just see me getting fatter but I keep getting told there is a definite bump there now.

Am down to two pairs of pants workwise... I do have two pairs sitting in a bag that need taking up so must get them around to my Steph's mum to see if she can take them up for me (god I hate being short at times) but before I do that I must try them on to make sure that they still do actually fit me!

Work today was great - relaxed and got heaps done. L and I were able to leave early so got away about 2.40pm so we could catch the 3pm train! Was so wonderful being home early and also while it was light (or as light as it was going to be in Winter)! We had the most yummy soup for dinner - it was a deli brand from the Supermarket (can't recall the name) but it was an organic lamb with roast garlic and red wine... it was devine and so yummy!!! And we accompanied it with some garlic bread! Great meal for this type of weather - we have had the most amazing rain and thunder storms this evening!

Not much more to say so will sign off here to stop me rambling to much...

Catch ya all later

Not too much to say tonight so won't ramble on too much....

Had a great day at work - real busy but we got through everything by our deadline and the payroll has been run and we are all getting paid tonight! Yipppeee!! :) And it will be a nice pay this week with back pay for an increase and also the over time from last week etc... but don't worry its all gone already :( Bugger!

The boss has told L and I that we can finish about 3pm tomorrow to say thanks for our hard work and then he will finish early on Thursday so that will be nice to be home by 4pm tomorrow and to be home whilst it is still light! :)

Oh and before I forget - I said in last nights entry that we had put the ride on car in the garage for when our wee one is old enough for it... and it wasn't till I read Emily's comment that I realised that I had said garage - we don't have a garage - it is in shed! Duhhhh!!!

Anyway, am off to have my Jelly Tip that my darling brought us earlier on when he went to get a paper and didn't want to use Eftpos just for a paper so he grabbed us a Jelly Tip each at the same time!

Catch ya all later...

Monday, July 10, 2006

Had a great day yesterday in what was another awesome beautiful winters day in Wellington!!! Managed a small sleep in knowing that I had the washing the night before and had even hung it out that night as well so didn't need to rush about getting it done and hung out before the sun disappeared off our line!
So after getting up, blobbing out, doing some housework, then off to my friend Lynaires place where her partner had made the most scrumptious delicious homemade pizza's served up with some crunchy fries! OMG - the pizza was so amazing!!! Thanks Kev!!!! :) Left Lynaires and came home for about 20 mins before heading out to meet my pregnant friend Jo - we were going to meet at The Fig Cafe but got down there to find it was already closed so we ended up at the cafe at Twiglands Garden Centre (next door to where I live) - hadn't been there before but will definitely be going back there - great service, great Hot Chocolate and a yummy peppermint slice (or Caramello Slice for Jo)! Time flew by there and the next thing we knew the cafe was wanting to close so we headed to our homes and promised to catch up before her wee girl is due in 7 weeks time!
Got home and still had my headache that had been coming and going all day but I had run out of Panadol so txt Steph who was out and asked him to get me some Panadol on the way home which he did so after taking one of those and a lay down for about 40 mins I started feeling better...
We had a very laid back dinner of Spaghetti and Cheese toasted sandwiches before making a batch of chocolate slice and also a banana loaf whilst getting stuck into finishing the work I had taken home.
Today, was another hectic day in the office but we did make a huge dent in the work load which is great but still another busy day ahead of us tomorrow. Quiet night tonight and an early one too...
Oh forgot to mention, when I got home from the cafe yesterday, Steph's brother had dropped off a bag full of bottles, microwave steriliser kit and a couple of kids plates etc... They also gave us one of those big yellow ride in cars that they won a couple of years ago but Alysha has grown out of it now. Don't think we will be using it for a good year or so for now so for now its in the garage.
Anyway, enough blabbering from me - don't have a lot of interesting stuff to say at the moment...

Saturday, July 08, 2006

Hi all

Well I wasn't going to do a post this evening as I thought I would just wait until tomorrow night but I have decided to have a bit of time on the computer after working for the last couple of hours and before I head to bed...

Yesterday was another full on day at work and brought heaps of the bosses work home with me to check over the weekend. And I must admit its not as bad as I thought it would be and theres probably only another hour or so left to do but will tackle that tomorrow sometime as I have had enough for now. I did an hour of checking last night before watching some TV.

Today, it was amazing to wake up to the sun shining! So I bounced out of bed when I woke at 8.30am, had a quick shower before throwing a load of washing on. Got that hung out, before heading down to Lower Hutt for my follow up scan. That went really well and yes she is still a girl which was pleasing to see! LOL The sonographer was able to get the photos that she needed to get of the spine and all is well. She then did another quick check of all the vital bits so it was amazing to be able to have another look at everything. We do have one shot of her laying on her back with her arms behind her head - just like her Mum loves to do! LOL But overall she was not very co-operative and quite wriggly! Her tummy is measuring quite big already so hopefully she won't take after her mum too much in that area! LOL

After finishing there, we headed up to Mum's place for lunch as it is Dad's 4th anniversary today. We thought we just have something like quiche and salad or perhaps some homemade soup with fresh bread.... but nope Mum (and my big sister) had organised a lovely roast pork with all the trimmings including the most wonderful crackling!!! YUM YUM!!! After lunch, I chose not to have dessert but instead wanted to head up to the cemetery to have a chat with Dad. So the four of us went up to Otaki cemetery for a while before we dropped mum and my sister back home and then we hit the road heading home.

I had hoped to be home earlier as I received an email late yesterday afternoon from Jude's son saying that he was going to be at the house today doing a clear out and would I like to pop up and choose something of Jude's to have (i.e. one of her soft toys, ornaments etc). I rung him up as we were heading over the Haywards Hill but unfortunately he was just locking up and had to leave but he did say that he will be back at the house next weekend to finish things off so I will pop up next Saturday to choose something. At this stage, I am wanting two bears (set) that I gave Jude - the first one when she was first diagonised with cancer and then one when she was in hospital so hopefully I will be able to have them.

Anyway, as we didn't have to go to Jude's, we headed to the Supermarket and did the groceries, and then home to do some work, whilst doing a couple more loads of washing all ready for the morning.

So now I am just blobbing out before heading to bed - I do need an early night and tonight it will be it! Well its almost 9.30pm so I am outta here... tomorrow we are going to Lynaire's for lunch with her and Kev so it will be great to catch up with them. I am also still hoping to catch up with my pregnant friend for a cuppa in the afternoon - must txt her in the morning. And somewhere between that I will finish off the work I have to do whilst Steph does the housework.

Enough blabbering and boring you all... catch ya all later some time.

Firstly, a big thank you to Annie for reading my journal last night and emailing me as per my request :) It was great to hear from you directly and I will drop you another email shortly...

Another full on day at work but boy the time sure does fly though! Looks like another weekend working - not sure how long for at this stage yet but hopefully just a few hours. It's mainly doing checking of the reports of the all the work we have done and we have been told we can do it at home but I personally think it will take longer at home but then it is more comfortable especially when the weather is so crappy outside! So will see how I go tomorrow, will bring some home and do some checking Friday night, then on Saturday afternoon/evening after getting home from Mum's and then if needs be I MIGHT go in on Sunday for a couple of hours or so... but I still want to meet Jo (my pregnant friend) as well so will play it all by ear.

I have found another pair of trousers that have been banished to the back of my wardrobe until next year. This is a pair that got far to big for me whilst I was losing weight and I thought woohoo I could wear them now BUT there is no stretch in these ones and I was fine whilst walking and standing BUTTTTTTTTT whilst sitting I have never been so uncomfortable in my life! I ended up undoing my zip and button whenever I was at my desk but it was still tight around the crotch - felt like I was getting a wedgey all day long!!! LOL So as soon as I got home they came off and are now at the back of my wardrobe... which means I do need to go and do some shopping for some cheap pants that I can't really afford but I do need them as I have a couple pairs of work pants left in my wardrobe.

My sleeping has been quite good over the last week and even managed a night without the homeopathic spray last night but on saying that I woke up with a real sore back and it is still really annoying me. So am hoping to get in to see the physio through the Hospital sometime in the next week or so. And since buying the Rescue Remedy Spray a week ago I have not not had a major panic attack and I seem to have the confidence in myself to stop them getting bad when I feel them coming on which is great in itself. But it is good to have it on hand just in case... and the Rescue Remedy will come in handy for when I go into labour later down the track.

Must try to remember to get Steph to take a photo of me sometime soon as my last photo was at 17 weeks. I still only see fat when I look in the mirror but almost everyone else says nope its definitely a bump there :)

Anyway, time to get moving as there are a couple of emails I want to send out before heading to bed.... enjoy your Friday everyone! :)

22 weeks today...

Hehehe the only entries that seem to have titles in my blog are the Wednesday ones when I have reached another week in the pregnancy... pretty boring really but that really sums me up lately :)

Going to head to bed soon for an early night as I have had two late nights and after working extra hours as well I am totally shattered! I was going to have an early night last night but my best friend from Invercargill rung about 9.15pm and we ended up talking for just under an hour! It was so cool to talk to her and catch up on everything! She had her 3rd son the week before Christmas last year so its great talking baby talk with her LOL :) But tonight I WILL have my early night!

Another full on day at work but boy it sure does make the time go faster... It's been a real shitty day here in Wellington weatherwise as some of you may have seen on TV tonight! I wasn't affected too much traffic wise as I catch the train - okay with the industrial action on the trains they are a bit slower but definitely faster the car today! L from work left work early today to ensure she was in Upper Hutt to pick up her son from the holiday programme by 5pm.... she left at 3.30pm and I got a txt from her just before to say she didn't get home until after 7pm!!! OMG it took her 3 1/2hrs to do a 30min trip!!!! Okay she was taking the long route as advised by the police so it should have taken her say 45/50mins at the most :)

I didn't work late tonight infact I even left about 20mins earlier to ensure I got an earlier train so I could go to the supermarket and also get some petrol and to be able to have tea with Steph before he went out shooting. We had a delicious pumpkin soup and fresh bread for tea tonight - really scrumptious and very warming.

Anyway, enough rambling from me for tonight... oh before I go can I ask Annie who is a regular reader of my journal to email me (link below my photo) as there a couple of things I would like to ask you and I don't have an email address for you. Thanks Annie :) Right catch ya all later. on.

Sorry for the brief post last night but I was so shattered and not sure why I updated at all as I had nothing to say! LOL

Did an extra hour again this evening at work and had a hell of a day workwise! Had a run in with the boss and after giving him basically the silent treatment for the last couple of hours this afternoon and then letting him have it after L had left. Okay some of it could come down to hormones but I a couple of comments he had made to me earlier had really pissed me off! And I told him so in no uncertain terms whilst bawling my eyes out I should add... but all is sorted now which is good.

We have heaps to do this weekend as we have my rescan on Saturday morning (to recheck a couple of pics that they were unable to get at my 20wk scan) at 10.30am and then its straight up to Mums on the Kapiti Coast to have lunch with her and my sister as it is Dad's 4th anniversary on Saturday. And we will also be doing the Christmas Draw for the adults so we can be organised for this year - as this will be the first Christmas in over 5 years since all of us 6 kids and their partners and their kids will be together so a few of us wanted to be organised gift wise :) Especially us as we want to get as much of our christmas shopping done before I go on Parental Leave and we are down on one income...

Then on Sunday I am hoping to catch up with a friend of mine who only has 7 1/2 weeks to go till she has her first bubs (she is also expecting a girl) and we haven't seen each other since just after my 12 week scan as we have both been busy so I can't wait to see Jo :)

Anyway, still got 3 days of work to get through till the weekend so guess I had better get through those days first :)

Catch ya all later

Hi all

Not to much to say tonight after a full on day at work... only worked till 5.30pm but thats an extra hour or so on top of what I normally do - would have stayed longer had I had the car in town but as I can't really afford to run the car in to town and pay for petrol and the car park! But an extra hour each night should help things in the long run.

Food wasn't the best today - quite a few "naughty" things found their way into my mouth during the stress of the day but as long as it doesn't happen too frequently then I should be ok.

Had quite a few flutters in the last 24hrs so thats hopefully a good sign for me to start feeling some real kicks real soon! :)

Well not much more to say really - probably wasn't really worth updating but as I was sitting in front of the laptop whilst watching Extreme Makeover (taped from last Thursday) so thought I would update anyway...

Take care and keep warm

Just a quickie as I am pretty shattered this evening after almost 7hrs at work! So am pretty brain dead and sore but am just thinking of the $$$. Will probably do at least an extra hour or so each day this week as well to ensure we get through everything!
Bit of a shame that I had to work as the weather was so glorious - bloody typical really! Bet next weekend it rains!
After working, I went via my nephew's flat in town to pick up a tallboy chest of drawers that he is giving us to use for baby's room whilst he is overseas so him and his flatmate got them into the car for me and I headed home.
Got home and between Steph and I, we got it into the spare room - gees we really do need to get the baby's room sorted as we are accumlating so much stuff I just want to get it all sorted and be organised!
Steph has cooked us a yummy dinner of sweet chilli chicken breasts, with his marvellous fluffy mashed spud with veggies and now I am just blobbing out before doing the dishes and then making my lunch and then it is off to the bath for me to wind down in there for a while.
Anyway, Steph is out of the shower, so best we go do the dishes... catch ya all later and I hope you all have a great week.
Night all

Wow its Saturday evening already! Where has the day gone?? Okay I guess since I didn't get up until about 10.30am this morning make the day shorter than normal! LOL But it was nice to sleep in and then just lay in bed with Steph :) And as heaps of people have said to me - make the most of it before our wee girl arrives! So I think we will start enjoying some lay-in's and some quality time together over the next few months. Though on saying that I am not a big fan of lay-in's especially on nice days as I feel like I am wasting the day but will see how I go :) Even one every now and then will be nice.

So yes, after finally have some breakfast about 11, we headed up to the library where I got a "Pregnancy for over 35" and a couple of light reading books as well. Then it was off to to do the groceries, then home for some home made BLT's for lunch. Jude's mum rung me as they were down for the weekend and we had a good chat and are hoping to get up to their place sometime in the next few weeks. I then headed down to Rachel's place to check out a highchair she has for sale - its so cool so will talk it over some more with Steph before making a decision as we have been thinking about getting one of those highchairs that fit onto your dining chairs which are a great idea when space is limited like it is at our place. But it was great having a chat to Rachel and meeting Reece (her elder son) and also her husband Andrew.

Home again, and got into some baking... have been hanging out to make a chocolate Slice which Mum used to make years ago and I then used to make it once old enough to do baking. It has always been a family favourite and as I seem to have a craving for things with chocolate and coconut in them I thought that this recipe would be ideal to make. Hasn't turned out quite the same as all those years ago but it is still yummy!!! Then made a batch of Raspberry muffins so thats the baking sorted for this week. I have been a bit slack on the baking front the last couple of weekends and believe it or not I had actually missed doing it and also missed having something homemade in my lunch box during the week.

Now just blobbing out before cooking up some nachos for tea tonight before we head out to a 4oth tonight. Sounds like I may be the only sober one there but hey that can be even more fun at times - must remember to take our camera with us!

Tomorrow, I am working and will probably head into work about 9.30ish and evenagise myself being there until late afternoon from what L has told me. L worked today (and will be working tomorrow as well) and rung me and told me what a slow process it is as we have to change three screens for every update we do.

But anyway, best I get moving and organise some tea etc before heading out tonight... hope you are all having a great weekend and enjoying the sunshine :) Catch ya all later
